{1}}Un LUG è formato da persone, senza le persone un LUG non esiste.  I modi 
per trovare le persone si dividono essenzialmente in forme dirette ed 
indirette, vediamoli:
	a) conoscenti -\/ di solito un LUG nasce dall'aver fatto conoscenza con qualche utente GNU/Linux con cui si condividono gli stessi interessi; 
	b) università -\/ nell'ambito accademico, soprattutto in facoltà come quelle di ingegneria ed informatica.  Gli ambiti universitari con carattere scientifico sono terreno fertile per utenti GNU/Linux. In questi contesti sarà facile trovare persone con necessità e conoscenze superiori agli utenti con poche esperienze.  Sarà altresì semplice diffondere i fattori culturali del software libero, vista la predisposizione all'utilizzo in ambito scientifico di programmi liberamente ditribuibili in uno spirito simile a quello della ricerca.  Preparate un volantino da affiggere in bacheca;
	c) Linux Meeting -\/ i meeting o le conferenza dedicate a GNU/Linux sono uno degli eventi in cui è più facile incontrare persone della propria area geografica, che altrimenti avreste difficilmente incontrato, con cui iniziare un dialogo e successivamente accordarsi per la creazione di un LUG.
	d) nei negozi di computer -\/ lasciate un biglietto o un volantino al responsabile del negozio; 
	e) sulle mailing list degli altri LUG vicini -\/ anche in caso di altre mailing list per correttezza limitatevi a postare una sola e-\/mail con l'annuncio della fondazione del proprio LUG;
	f) sui newsgroup -\/ postate un'annuncio su news://it.comp.os.linux.annunci si tratta di un newsgroup moderato. Moderato significa che c'e' una persona che legge e valida o meno tutti i post che questo gruppo riceve.  L'approvazione può richiedere anche fino a 5 giorni feriali, armatevi quindi di un minimo di pazienza prima di vedere il vostro annuncio pubblicato. Non postate su altri newsgroup della gerarchia GNU/Linux, è un azione deplorevole e rischiate che la mannaia di Thorin si abbatta su di voi :-\/) ;
	g) canali IRC -\/ sempre di più sono i pinguini che usano IRC per comunicare tra di loro. Il canale dedicato a GNU/Linux per l`italia e \#linux-\/it Il canale \#linux-\/it c'e' sia sulla rete OpenProjects che sulla rete IRCNet. Le persone che trovate tramite i server di OpenProjects sono in generale un sottoinsieme di quelle che trovate su IRCNet.  IRCNet è una rete molto frequentata mentre su OpenProjects c'e' un canale molto più tranquillo.  Ecco un'elenco dei server disponibili:

La difficoltà maggiore è nell'evitare che ogni socio del LUG prenda una 
strada diversa a causa di opinioni decisamente divergenti (i "flame").
Allo stesso tempo bisogna incoraggiare i soci a collaborare tra di loro
cercando di trovare il assegnare loro funzioni di loro gradimento.
Quasi tutti hanno una passione: fateli sfogare.

Quando il LUG copre un area geografica molto grande,
fare degli incontri faccia a faccia può presentare molte difficoltà.

caso è bene mantenere separata l'attività di consulenza (che tutti gli
